Under the Equality Act 2010, as a public authority, we have a legal obligation to provide equality of opportunity and eliminate discrimination in relation to protected characteristics of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, sex and sexual orientation. The objectives for the Trust for 2012/13 will include:
- To promote leadership on equality at Board Level
- Improve the quality of equality data collected for both patients and staff and to make it widely available to managers and staff
- To focus on the health and well being of staff
- To ensure all aspects of training and appraisal are analysed and reported by the protected characteristics
