A survey of trainee doctors reveals the James Paget University Hospital is the top hospital in East Anglia for quality of training in Emergency Medicine and Ear, Nose and Throat specialties.
The survey was carried out by the General Medical Council (GMC). The GMC is the independent regulator for doctors in the UK and sets the standards for medical education and training.
The Governors of the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust today appointed Peter Franzen as interim Chairman.
Mr Franzen, OBE, succeeds John Hemming. Peter, who lives in Loddon, has a lifetime of skills in the media industry. He was a former Editor of the Great Yarmouth Mercury, but is perhaps best known as the former Editor of the EDP, a role he held for 16 years before retiring in 2009.
The Chairman of the James Paget University Hospitals has today announced his resignation.
John Hemming announced to hospital staff and governors his decision to resign with immediate effect from today and thanked all the staff for their support and hard work.
The James Paget University Hospital today takes the unprecedented step of assuring the people of Great Yarmouth and Waveney that they are “safe in our hands”.
We recognise a heightened degree of public concern and wish to reassure our patients around the changes and improvements already made at the James Paget University Hospitals in respect of dignity, privacy and nutrition.
