The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is committed to achieving the highest possible standards of service. Therefore, staff speaking up about any concern they have at work is really important. In fact, it’s vital because it will help us to keep improving services for all our patients, and improve the working environment for our team across the hospital who support patient care.

The Guardian Service is available for staff to discuss concerns relating to patient care and safety, whistleblowing issues (including criminal offences such as fraud, health and safety concerns, environmental damage), bullying and harassment and other serious concerns.

All Guardians are external to the Trust and have had no prior connection with the Trust. They are there to provide information and emotional support in a strictly confidential, non-judgemental manner. The other important part of the role is to work closely with leaders in the Trust (including the Board) to ensure issues are understood and are responded to.

Members of staff at the James Paget can contact the Guardian Service at 0333 733 6511.
