Outpatient service

We accept referrals from GPs and other health professionals for babies and children up to 16 years old. Dr Bentsi-Enchill's clinics are held at JPUH on Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings. Dr Ambadkar’s clinics are all day on Mondays. 

We run a Gastroenterology clinic with a Dietician and Nurse Practitioner present on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

We hold Coeliac clinics twice a year (Spring and Autumn) on a Thursday afternoon, specifically for children with Coeliac disease for their annual check-up with the gastroenterology team. Senior Paediatric Dietician Patrick Friel brings free samples of gluten free foods and recipes with specialist advice and information available.

We look forward to restarting the Joint Paediatric Gastroenterology clinic with a visiting Paediatric Specialist from Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (NNUH) so that our families can have more specialist advice, close to home. We continue to work closely with NNUH and refer patients from our clinics for children’s assessments that we do not provide at JPUH such as endoscopy.

It is not usually possible to perform investigations on the same day as the clinic appointment except for types of x-ray. For those who need blood tests, we have an excellent service provided by play specialists supporting children’s trained phlebotomists.
