The breast surgery team consists of three surgeons, supported by a team of breast care nurses and secretarial staff.
We run symptomatic clinics, and offer a full range of breast surgery techniques, including specialised breast reconstruction with implants and muscular flaps. Patients requiring more complex microsurgical free flap reconstructions are referred to our plastic surgery colleagues who run monthly clinics at the James Paget University Hospital, and are based at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.
Professor Pereira has an international reputation in breast surgery, and was at the forefront of the recent National Mastectomy & Breast Reconstruction Audit, which highlighted a need for improved breast reconstruction services throughout the country.
The Breast Surgery Unit also has strong links with the University of East Anglia, and all three surgeons are involved in delivering the specialist Masters degree in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, which is the highest qualification internationally in this field.
