Radiology IT
All images captured by Diagnostic Imaging are in digital format which are subsequently stored within our ‘PACS’ system (Picture Archive and Communications System). The PACS system is a modern technological system which allows images and associated reports to be readily available to authorised clinicians throughout the Trust. It allows the images to be shared with other healthcare organisations in the event of your care being delivered at another hospital, ensuring your imaging record follows you and allows seamless continuity of care. The PACS system (amongst others) is managed by a team of Radiographers to help ensure the availability and accuracy of the data at all times.
If you require your imaging records to be accessible to third parties you should contact the Health Care Records Department on 01493 452153, to obtain the relevant paper work for completion.
