Urology Outpatients

Welcome to the Urology Outpatient department. This is a service for men and women who have bladder related health problems, including male sexual dysfunction health problems.

The team consists of a full time urology nurse specialist, part-time urology support staff nurse and a healthcare assistant for some clinics. 

 

What services are provided?

All of our services are outpatient based (OPD) are specific to investigate or give treatment for known conditions.

Services include:

  • Flow tests and urodynamic studies
  • Treatment for known conditions such as interstitial cystitis (painful bladder syndrome)
  • Patient education, including how to use intermittent catheters in order to empty the bladder
  • Treatment for erectile dysfunction.

 

How can I get a referral?

Patients are sometimes referred by their local GP, but the majority are through a urology or gynaecology consultant.
