Foodbank collection continues

22 December 2017

Staff around the James Paget University Hospital have been doing their bit to help families and individuals facing less fortunate circumstances this Christmas by collecting donations for local foodbanks.

Earlier today the Salvation Army visited the hospital to collect bags and boxes full of food and treats to provide short-term emergency food relief to people and families in crisis in the area.
Those who have been made redundant, who have become ill or are experiencing benefit delay are among those who can be assisted by the foodbank, who work closely with local agencies including housing support officers, children’s centres, health visitors, social services, schools, GPs and some local charities who issue foodbank vouchers and provide help and support.
The whole hospital was involved with the collection, with many wards, departments and individuals taking on the challenge to gather as much food as they could.
