Breathe Easy Group Starts At Hospital

10 July 2017

A new group which helps those suffering from lung conditions is now running from the James Paget University Hospital.

The Great Yarmouth and Waveney Breathe Easy Group brings together people affected by lung disease and their families and friends to offer support - and help them manage their conditions.

The group held its first meeting last month, when staff from the hospital talked about medicines and the importance of ensuring drugs are taken at the right time. They also explained how a chest x-ray can help identify someone’s lung condition.

A new health topic will be discussed at every meeting, and a member of staff from the hospital’s Respiratory Nursing team will be on hand to answer questions.

Social events are also organised, with a quiz at the Pier Hotel in Gorleston taking place later this month.

There are more than 230 Breathe Easy groups across the UK, which are run in association with the British Lung Foundation.

For more information about the group, which meets at the hospital on the second Monday of the month, please contact the Respiratory Nursing team on 01493 453423.
