Helping Hands Transform Hospital Garden

06 June 2017

A garden at the James Paget University Hospital (JPUH) is being given a make-over thanks to staff from a local Marks and Spencer store.

The team of staff, from the Lowestoft store, are spending two days this week clearing overgrown vegetation from the garden next to the hospital’s Bereavement Suite before planting shrubs and installing features including a bench and paving.

The garden project has been funded by Marks and Spencer as part of its ‘Making Every Moment Special’ campaign which aims to promote sustainability while protecting the environment.

JPUH Mortuary and Bereavement Co-ordinator Mica Benson said: “We would like to thank Marks and Spencer for their generosity in helping improve our garden so that it provides a welcoming and relaxing area where families can sit and reflect.”
