High levels of demand in A&E

25 October 2017

The James Paget University Hospital is currently experiencing high levels of demand in our Accident and Emergency Department and we are asking you to consider alternative options if your medical need is not urgent.

We are working with our community partners and would like to remind the public that they have an important role to play in easing pressure on the system by noting that, if it is not an emergency, other options are available instead of calling 999 or visiting A&E.

You can visit your pharmacist or GP, call NHS 111 or use NHS Choices at .

If you call NHS 111 you can get advice and they can signpost you to the most appropriate service.
