23 April 2018

A celebration of the work of the team on Ward 16 Short Stay was held on Friday as the ‘Time to Shine’ first-year anniversary Afternoon Tea took place.

Staff on the ward and invited guests gathered along with directors and managers for the event, which highlighted some of the achievements over the past year.

During this time almost 2,000 patients have been treated on the ward by the Emergency Care Team, with an average ‘short stay’ of under three days.

Senior Sister Suzanne Frary said; “Today is all about celebrating how well the team have done. They have made a significant difference as part of a multi-disciplinary team, which is supported by many other departments in the hospital, working towards the safe discharge of patients and we wanted to mark all they have achieved in the past 12 months.”

Tea, coffee, cold drinks and a selection of cakes and scones were served at the Afternoon Tea held between 2pm and 4.30pm.
