Boost for Rejuvenate Breast Care Programme

03 December 2018

A cheque for more than £190 has been handed over to our Rejuvenate Breast Care Programme following the success of The Fit-Fest 2018, held at Lynn Grove High School in Gorleston.

The event, held in September 2018, raised £192.50 for the survivorship group which supports women post breast cancer treatment. Those completing treatment are invited to join the five-month wellbeing programme at the James Paget, which offers a range of activities and relaxation techniques designed to open a healthier way to move forward.

On Thursday, 29 November, Nathan Gray of Samballa Yoga, who is involved in the programme and is one of the organisers of Fit-Fest, visited the Louise Hamilton Centre to hand over the cheque to our Breast Care specialist nursing team.

Nathan says; “The programme is a very positive experience from my point of view, with so many of the women taking part not just surviving but thriving post breast cancer and cancer treatment.  There is so much going for the programme – it’s great to see everyone smiling and happy – it’s inspiring and these amazing nurses provide support through the monthly sessions.”

Jill Swan and Rachel Fenn Breast Care Nurse Specialists, said; “The programme can be a new start and an opportunity to make new friends who may have been through similar experiences. It’s all about confidence building, giving the chance to try everything from nail care to holistic therapies and we are supported in this by a variety of local businesses who specialise in lifestyle and relaxation treatments and classes. We are grateful to all of those who help with the programme and would like to thank Nathan, George Clark and all those involved in Fit Fest for raising these funds.”

The Fit Fest 2019 is being held on 24 February at Lynn Grove High School in Gorleston. The day, from 10am to 4pm, will give anyone interested the opportunity to sample a variety of group fitness classes - including Circuits, Nordic Walking, Bootybarre, Pilates, Yoga and dance-based classes - with top instructors from across the area.

As last year, £2.50 from each ticket sale will be donated to the Rejuvenate programme. For more information and tickets please email or visit for details and classes on the day.
