The James Paget University Hospital has been shortlisted for two national NHS Employers 2018 flu fighter awards.
The Paget has been shortlisted in the Best Flu Fighter Team category and for the digital and social media campaign to encourage staff at the hospital to have the flu vaccination.
The national awards aim to recognise flu teams’ efforts to encourage healthcare staff to have the vaccination to help protect patients and colleagues from the infection and to celebrate their commitment to fighting flu.
Over the past two years the Flu Fighter team have increased uptake of the flu vaccination among frontline staff in the hospital from 39% to 71%, with this years’ internal campaign featuring Flu Bee and the Flu Bee Game to bust myths about the vaccine.
The team have now been invited to the awards ceremony in Manchester on April 24, where the winners will be announced.
