Our Ward 18 team's Christmas raffle extravaganza has raised more than £1,600 towards welcome packs and toy therapy pets for our dementia and long stay patients on the ward.

The prize draw was held in the Discharge Lounge, on the Ward, on Wednesday 19 December, with prizes including £100 cash, show tickets, short breaks, New Year entertainment, a photoshoot, beauty treatments and paintballing for five all being won.

The draw event, with tea, coffee and cakes, was followed by a performance from the Salvation Army band to entertain patients, visitors and staff.

Ward 18 would like to say a big thank you to all the local businesses who made a raffle prize donation

Senior Sister Gemma Lister says; “We were overwhelmed by the generous response, with more than 60 businesses, individuals and organisations donating raffle prizes. We’d like to thank each and every one of them for supporting our efforts. Through their kindness we’ve raised £1,670 to fund packs to support our patients and to help make their stay with us a little brighter.

“I’m so proud of my team - they have all worked really hard to make this happen.”

Those who have donated items include Christine Brown, Debra Yaxley and Liz Tomlins of our Discharge Hub team plus the businesses and individuals below. Thank you to all.
