Safeguarding conference

19 October 2018

There was a full house for the James Paget’s annual safeguarding conference today, with more than 100 delegates from the hospital and partner agencies attending.

The all-day event, held in the Burrage Centre on the Paget site, saw speakers from a variety of organisations share their insight and knowledge on safeguarding adults and children, supporting professionals to develop their confidence to safeguard the rights and well-being of some of the most vulnerable in our communities.

The aim was to improve understanding of essential and developing areas of safeguarding.

Topics covered during the day included domestic abuse, neglect of children, self-neglect and hoarding, and harmful sexual behaviours, giving guidance to health care practitioners on how to spot the signs and to take appropriate action.
