Team secures top award

11 October 2018

The James Paget University Hospital has been named as the best workplace for learning and development at a prestigious awards ceremony.

The hospital’s education and practice development team picked up the accolade at this year’s inaugural Nursing Times Workforce Awards for their work in developing a future workforce, which includes introducing a new Health Academy and nursing scholarship.

In selecting the team to receive the best workplace for learning and development award (up to 1500 nursing staff category), the judges praised staff for their innovation and focus on collaboration in their projects.

The award was one of 11 presented at the ceremony, which took place on 4 October, to recognise organisations going above and beyond to recruit and retain their nursing workforce.

Head of Education and Practice Development at JPUH Sharon Crowle said: “We are delighted to win this award, which reflects the hard work of the whole team in developing innovative ways of growing and retaining our workforce to care for both today’s and tomorrow’s patients.”
