This week, Monday 10 to Friday 14 September, is Safeguarding Adults Week in Norfolk and there will be a display in our Aubergine Restaurant to raise awareness and to provide information from tomorrow, Wednesday 12 September.
The James Paget Safeguarding Team work closely with partner agencies to help adults who are at-risk, who may need additional help to stay safe.
Adults at-risk can include people with disabilities, older people, those with mental health problems, those with long-term health problems and those who misuse drugs or alcohol. Individuals can be vulnerable to abuse from those who know them – in some cases family or people they consider to be friends - and strangers, and the abuse could take several forms. These could include physical, emotional or sexual abuse, financial abuse, neglect, discrimination, domestic abuse and modern slavery.
There will be a range of materials available in Aubergine with guidance around recognising the signs of abuse and where to report it.
