After 5½ years in the role, Christine Allen, Chief Executive, has announced that she will be leaving the Trust in February 2019 for a new Chief Executive job closer to home at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Christine said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at James Paget Hospital, working with amazing and talented people. It has been a privilege to lead the organisation over the last five and a half years and it is pleasing to see our hard work recognised by the CQC who have rated our services as “Good” for the third time. I am fortunate to be part of a high performing leadership team and I am confident that my decision to move on will not affect plans to continue to focus on improvements in care for patients. I am and always will be #ProudofthePaget.”
Anna Davidson, Trust Chair, said; “Christine will be very much missed having made many improvements since she arrived in 2013. She took over a Trust that had significant challenges, built a new team and worked closely with the Chair, leading the changes that we see today. She has been instrumental in moving us forward in our partnership working and has been a major part of the Norfolk and Waveney Sustainability & Transformation Partnership, ensuring that the three acute trusts work together and remain sustainable and able to deal with the increasing demands being seen. We all wish her well in her new role.
“As an interim measure, Deputy Chief Executive Anna Hills will take on the role for a 6-12 month period to ensure stable leadership. Anna is an existing Executive Director with a detailed knowledge of the Trust and its priorities and will steer the Trust prior to a permanent appointment being made.”
