Our Endoscopy department is opening it doors as part of a nursing recruitment event on Saturday 27 April, with nurses and student nurses invited along to meet the friendly team.
The Endoscopy Unit will be open from 9am to 1pm for potential new recruits. Fully qualified nurses, those looking for a return to nursing or those looking for a change, and student nurses wanting to find out more about endoscopy are all encouraged to come along.
There will be the chance to have a look around a unique department in our hospital, to learn more about the nursing opportunities available, to find out more about what the job entails and to meet some of the team.
They will be happy to have a chat about their work and answer any questions you may have.
Our Endoscopy Unit has twice been granted JAG accreditation on the day of inspection, in 2013 and 2018. To put this in context, across the UK only 10%-15% of Endoscopy units are accredited on the day, so to do it twice is remarkable and demonstrates the dedication of the team.
Inspectors highlighted a number of notable achievements, congratulating the unit on areas including the leadership team for their supportive and visible management with a genuine open-door policy, and providing an excellent on-call service with good staffing levels and positive engagement from all involved.
The team also encourages staff development and progression, and has a strong training record with a ‘grow our own’ workforce ethos, and annual patient surveys demonstrate the high regard our patients have for the staff, the department and the care received.
If you would like to find out more please come along to our recruitment event on Saturday 27 April or if you can’t make the day but are a qualified or student nurse you can also contact Senior Sister Sue Riley on 01493 453051 for more information.
