A long standing volunteer is retiring after more than 10 years supporting our Cardiac Rehabilitation Service.
Alan Durrance (pictured with Paula, Liz and Ali from the team) volunteered with the service helping with the Cardiac Rehabilitation exercise class, assisting by setting up the exercise equipment, greeting patients as they register for each exercise session and taking orders for tea and coffee. Each week Alan managed to multi task as he kept time on his stop watch whilst reading his Lowestoft Bugle Magazine!
Cardiac Nurse Specialist Nurse Paula Baker says; “Alan enjoyed attending the ‘Monday’ sessions as he always appreciated the Bank Holidays off! A finalist in our Remarkable People Awards in 2015, he attended the ceremony with his wife. Alan always enjoyed his complimentary Volunteers Christmas Luncheon and would always return to the gym with a festive smile.”
Alan’s contribution to the team was celebrated at a special farewell evening recently, where the team shared memories and were able to thank Alan for all his support and commitment.
