Volunteers' Week 2019

31 May 2019

It’s Volunteers’ Week from tomorrow, Saturday 1, to Friday 7 June and here at the James Paget we’re holding a special open event to celebrate our volunteers and to welcome anyone interested in joining them.

The event will be held between 10am and 3pm on Wednesday 5 June in the E-learning café in the Burrage Centre, at the back of the James Paget site. Everyone is welcome along – including our current volunteers, anyone who would like to thank them for their work, including our staff and the wider public, and anyone who would like to find out more about volunteering at our hospital.

You’re welcome along at any point between 10am and 3pm and our volunteer co-ordinator and some of our existing team of volunteers will be on hand to have a chat and to answer any questions.

Volunteers at the hospital carry out a number of roles including dementia befriending, providing general support to wards and departments, volunteering at reception and helping escort patients, collecting prescription medicines, assisting at meal times and providing breastfeeding support to new mums.

You can find out more via our website here or please come along and say hello on Wednesday 5 June.
