The James Paget University Hospital has been named 'Apprenticeship Employer of the Year' in East Coast College's 2020 Apprenticeship Awards.
The awards, announced last week, recognises the work of our Apprenticeship team and is a massive credit to our Business Administration Apprentices who have worked hard over the past year, and those members of staff who have supported them within the hospital.
Apprentices work in many teams and departments and they have risen to the challenges faced in recent weeks with dedication and a willingness to support their colleagues. Some apprentices were redeployed to support important areas within the Trust such as the Operations Centre and the COVID-19 helpline, while others had to adapt to working from home or a new environment.
Apprenticeships Team Leader Samantha Hunn said; "This is lovely news and we really are grateful. With all the difficulties and struggles we have faced over the past few months it's really nice that East Coast College, one of our training providers, have given us this recognition and we are very thankful for their ongoing support. We would also just like to say really well done to all of our apprentices who also got nominated for Apprentice of the Year.”
East Coast College referred to the flexibility and strong leadership shown and praised our apprentices for how they have adapted to changing job roles. They finished by announcing that, as a personal thank you to the Trust, they would like to make a donation to our hospital charity.
