Work to be carried out in A&E waiting room

05 May 2021

Work will be carried out overnight tonight, Wednesday 5, and tomorrow, Thursday 6 May, to lay new flooring in our emergency department waiting room.

The work is being planned for the early hours, from approximately 1am to 7am, to minimise the disruption to those coming into our A&E. Patients will be directed appropriately during the work and we would ask that you follow any directions given by our staff.

We would continue to ask you not to attend A&E unless it is a genuine emergency.

If you need medical assistance and it’s urgent but not a life-threatening emergency, please contact the NHS 111 service by dialling 111 from any phone or going online; https://111.nhs.uk/ first.

The NHS 111 service is able to allocate timed slots to support social distancing within our emergency department to help us protect the safety of patients and our staff. This will support our team and is likely to reduce the time you may have to wait.

Please think 111 first, and help us to help you.
