One of our bank Health Care Assistants has completed more than 310,000 steps in October to raise money for Sands, the charity which supports anyone affected by the death of a baby.
Emma Bracken took part in ‘Sands 310K in October’ challenge and effectively completed more than 10,000 steps every day during the month to finish with a final total of 311,035. And there’s still time to support her fundraising.
Emma says; “I decided to do it mainly as my niece and her partner lost their baby, Nelly, at 36 weeks gestation in August. They also suffered a loss in 2019 of their baby Skye. I really feel for them and what they've had to go through.”
Sands provides bereavement support services and carries out work to better understand the causes of baby deaths, promoting research and training to provide better care.
