Please use A&E wisely

08 April 2022

If you have Covid symptoms, please do not come into our A&E as this runs the risk of spreading the illness to vulnerable patients. If you are seriously unwell with Covid symptoms, please dial the NHS 111 service who will direct you appropriately and, if necessary, make arrangements for you to attend hospital.

Please note our hospital does not provide tests to the public, unless you have to be admitted as a patient.

The government has ended free testing for Covid-19 for most people in England and there is no longer a legal requirement to self-isolate, although you are urged to stay at home and away from others if you feel unwell to avoid passing on the virus.

More information about this can be found on the NHS website here; https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/

Further information about who is eligible for a free NHS Covid test can be found here; https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/get-tested-for-coronavirus/

Across our hospital, and others in Norfolk, it is very busy at the moment and we're asking you to use the NHS 111 service unless it is a life-threatening emergency. You can read more here.
