We’re seeing an increasing amount of cases of flu and are continuing to urge you to get the flu vaccination if you can.
One of the best ways to help protect yourself and others from catching and spreading flu is to have the flu jab every year.
Flu strains can change from year to year. This means last year’s jab may not protect you from this year’s strains. The vaccine usually provides protection for the duration of that year’s flu season.
You don’t need to wait to be invited to have your vaccine. If you are eligible for the free flu vaccine, you can make an appointment at your GP surgery or ask any pharmacy that provides the NHS service. Please speak to your GP practice about arranging a vaccination appointment if you are housebound.
If you do not fall within the eligible categories for a free flu vaccine, you can still get one from a participating pharmacy for a small fee.
