Our staff are being encouraged to put their best foot forward in the run up to Christmas - to raise funds for charity.
The Trust has joined the Walk Home for Christmas challenge, which is run each year by the Walking with the Wounded charity to raise funds for its work supporting and caring for veterans who have been physically and/or mentally wounded.
Chief Nurse Paul Morris and Armed Forces Advocate Chris Blyth have already signed up, with Chris pledging to walk the distance from the James Paget to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and back before Christmas Day - a distance of 60 miles.
Now, they are hoping that as many staff as possible will join the Paget Team which aims to raise at least £750 for the charity.
Paul said: “The Walking Home for Christmas challenge really is a ‘win, win’. It raises funds for a very worthwhile cause - but at the same time, it gives our staff an opportunity to take part in some exercise, which is beneficial for both physical and mental health.
“It’s not about walking huge distances. It’s about setting some realistic walking goals which then act as an incentive to get active and walking, to relieve some stress and get out in the fresh air in the run up to Christmas.”
The challenge runs until 20 December - and is open to all.
