PAT dog appeal

19 May 2022

Is your dog registered as a PAT dog? Or is this something you might like to find out more about?

As part of Dementia Awareness Week, from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 May, we are delighted to start to recruit new PAT dogs to support patients and staff at our hospital.

Now visiting has been re-started, we are planning to re-introduce Pets As Therapy (PAT) dogs to help benefit both patient and staff wellbeing.

PAT volunteers help to brighten up hospitals by bringing their pet along and we’re really pleased that they will be back supporting our patients and our team, helping to put a smile on the faces of everyone.

If you and your pet are already registered with Pets As Therapy and you might be interested in hospital visiting we’d like to hear from you. You can call Ali, our Dementia Care Lead, on 01493 453735 or John, our Volunteer Co-ordinator, on 01493 453546.

If you have a pet who you think you might be suitable and you want to find out more information about Pets As Therapy and how to register please visit; https://petsastherapy.org/
