The James Paget is looking to recruit more volunteers to assist a variety of teams and departments this winter and, if you’re interested in finding out more you’re invited to attend an event being held at Great Yarmouth Town Hall on Thursday, 24 November.
The drop-in event, being held between 10.30am and 12.30pm in the Town Hall, at Hall Plain, will give you the opportunity to talk to some of our team about the volunteer opportunities available.
The event is one being held as local NHS Trusts and voluntary sector organisations across Norfolk and Waveney appeal for willing volunteers to get involved and support their local community as services face increasing pressure over the winter period.
The Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS) is hosting a series of volunteer recruitment events for individuals to find out about current volunteer roles. At the James Paget we’re particularly looking for individuals who can help provide companionship, reassurance and refreshments for patients in our Accident and Emergency department and for anyone who may have served in the Armed Forces who might like to support other veterans, through visiting them during their hospital stay to provide them with a friendly face to talk to.
If you are unable to join us at the event but would be interested in learning more please email volunteercoordinator@jpaget.nhs.uk or call 01493 453546, or, if you are a veteran and this sounds like something you would like to do, and you have a minimum of four hours a week to spare, please email our Armed Forces Advocate Chris.Blyth@jpaget.nhs.uk for more information.
