New Chief Executive appointed

Jo Segasby has been appointed as the permanent Chief Executive of James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Jo, who has been the Trust’s Chief Operating Officer since 2019, will take up the position when current Chief Executive Anna Hills moves on to her new role as Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.

A registered nurse, Jo has worked in the NHS for over 30 years, carrying out clinical work in Accident and Emergency and Critical Care, at Ipswich, Addenbrooke's and the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.

She has held managerial roles in Cancer Services, Women and Children’s Services and was Operational Director for Surgery at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital from 2014. Jo joined the James Paget team in October 2018 as Associate Chief Operating Officer, becoming the Chief Operating Officer in May 2019.

“Throughout a rigorous recruitment process, we were particularly impressed with Jo’s dedication and commitment to the James Paget, the leadership she has shown in her current role of Chief Operating Officer in steering the hospital through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and her clear vision towards improving the quality of care for our patients.”
