Covid vaccination outreach success

21 November 2022

Covid Vaccination At Pathway Cafe - a group of five people including nurses - are pictured in a line, smiling at the camera.

Our Covid-19 vaccination team have been getting out and about to give more people the opportunity to get the vaccine and have recently been at the Pathway Café in Great Yarmouth where they gave 14 vaccinations, including two first doses.

The team have been working with a variety of local organisations to offer vaccines to those living in the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area and, in addition to holding standard clinics at the Louise Hamilton Centre on our hospital site and at Kirkley Mill health centre in Lowestoft, they have been organising outreach sessions in different places to provide access to the vaccination to more people.

One of the latest venues was the Pathway Café in Admiralty Road where the team spoke to visitors and offered vaccination to anyone eligible for first, second or booster doses. They were delighted that two people took up the opportunity to get their first doses while a dozen others chose to get a booster jab.

This is just one of the initiatives our vaccination team are undertaking to expand access to Covid-19 vaccination and other health services.

They are currently working in partnership with OneLife Suffolk to offer health checks alongside vaccination at some of the Kirkley Mill clinics and have been offering accessible vaccination clinics - to support people with learning disabilities and autism to get their Covid vaccinations – at the Louise Hamilton Centre,

There are a number of ways you can get a first, second or booster vaccination if you are eligible. You can make an appointment via the National Booking Service; or walk-in to any advertised session.

If you would like to make a booking for one of the specialist accessible clinics for those with learning disabilities and autism, which are tailored to meet the individual needs of anyone who might find it difficult to attend a standard vaccination centre, please call 01493 453930 or email
