A cheque for more than £500 has been handed over to our Sandra Chapman Centre following a hugely successful all-day coffee morning event.
Jenny Cook organised the coffee morning at her home to raise funds for the Centre, which provides care and support to patients with malignant and non-malignant conditions, including blood disorders and cancers.
Both Jenny and her late husband had received treatment at the Centre and she wanted to say thank you to the team.
During the coffee morning, which was held in July and extended until 6pm, around 80 to 90 people visited the event raising an amazing £560 for the unit.
On Tuesday Jenny and her partner and ‘chief washer-up-er’ Richard Bensley visited the Sandra Chapman Centre to hand over the funds.
Maxine Taylor, James Paget Charity Manager, said; “This is an incredible amount to raise from a coffee morning – even an extended one – and we’d like to thank Jenny, Richard and all who attended for their generosity.”
