Lavish Life Competitions deliver mountain of gifts

19 December 2023

Three of the team from Lavish Life Competitions kneel next to a huge pile of presents, all wrapped in red paper with white Santa faces on, which look like white spots at the distance the photo was taken from. Maxine, our charity manager, stands behind the three men holding two of the presents. All four wear Santa hats.

We’d like to say a big thank you to local business Lavish Life Competitions after this huge pile of presents was handed over to us to benefit children and young people across our hospital this Christmas.

The bumper donation of gifts has been shared out between numerous teams around the hospital including our Children’s Ward, The Cove Children’s Clinic and children’s waiting areas in X-Ray, Audiology and Orthopaedics.

Some items will be given out to children who have to stay in hospital over the festive season while some of the games, toys and activities will be put to good use in waiting areas and clinics.

Lavish Life Competitions is based in Lowestoft and provides people all around the UK the chance to win prizes – including cars, watches and tech – via raffles. The team at the company wanted to donate toys to support children and young people across the area and decided to contribute profits from sales and donations to a pot to purchase presents.

Between Monday 27th November and Sunday 3rd December, all profits from sales, plus extra money provided by the team, was used for toy donations. The James Paget was one of several beneficiaries with around £2,000 worth of toys, games, books and activity items all wrapped up and labelled to hand over.

Last week the Lavish Life Competitions team visited to present the gifts to Maxine Taylor, our Charity Manager, and soon after deliveries were made to teams and areas to pass them on.

Maxine said; “This is just an amazing amount of gifts that will support children and young people across our hospital this Christmas. As there were so many, our teams will be sharing these out between individual patients and children’s waiting areas to make sure as many young people as possible can benefit. We’re very grateful to Lavish Life Competitions for thinking of our patients.”

Our photos show the handover and the delivery of presents to The Cove clinic team.

We’d like to thank the team at Lavish Life Competitions for their generosity.

Some of the team in The Cove children's clinic - including nurses in uniform - each hold gifts in red wrapping paper. A large trolley is full of gifts on two shelves and the team - of eight women, including Maxine, our charity manager - stand either side of and behind the trolley.
