A cheque for £500 has been handed over to our Sandra Chapman Centre by the local branch of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, with the money going to support patients using the centre.
Phil Smith and Bob Byrom visited our hospital on Friday, 20 January, to hand over the cheque to some of the Sandra Chapman team and our James Paget Hospital Charity co-ordinator Maxine Taylor.
The money was raised through previous Oil Baron’s Ball events in the Great Yarmouth area and was left in charity funds, with the organisation choosing to donate this money to the centre, which provides care and support to patients with malignant and non-malignant conditions, including blood disorders and cancers.
The money will be put towards purchasing a new specialist chair for patients, which provides additional comfort for those receiving treatment.
