Our mobile cancer care unit team are asking local people to join a fund-raising push for the charity which helps bring treatment closer to home for thousands of patients.
Hope for Tomorrow allows the NHS to deliver over 26,000 cancer care treatments in local communities across England through a fleet of mobile cancer care units.
This means that patients don’t have to travel to hospital but can receive their treatment in a more convenient location
In the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area, our team visits local supermarkets to provide hundreds of treatments to patients, working from their mobile unit which is called ‘Jewel.’
‘Jewel’ costs £212 per day to keep on the road - so raising funds to keep the fleet of units on the road is crucial.
To help with this, Hope for Tomorrow has launched a ‘Cuppa for Cancer Care’, which takes place from 30 January to 5 February.
The charity wants people to organise Cuppa for Cancer Care events to raise funds by serving tea, coffee and cakes at their home, work or village hall or any other location in their community.
