A team of 30 staff from our Emergency Department (ED) are set to take part in the East Anglian Air Ambulance ‘Only The Brave’ event in September – tackling a six-mile muddy and wet obstacle course to help raise funds for the air ambulance service.
The Accident & Emergency team from the Paget will compete in two teams of 15 - made up of adult and paediatric nurses, doctors, advance care practitioners, healthcare assistants, porters, paramedics, and more, who all work within the department - in the event being held at the Euston Estate in Suffolk on Sunday 24 September.
Our ED team provide 24 hour emergency care to residents in, and visitors to, Norfolk and Suffolk and work closely with the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), a 365-day-a-year helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) which covers both counties plus Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Some of our staff also work as part of the EAAA team too.
The EAAA does not receive regular direct government funding and instead has to rely on charitable donations and our team want to support them by raising as much money as they can.
The two 15-strong teams from the Paget will be called ‘The JPUH A&Ethletes’ and ‘The JPUH A&Erobic Amblers’ and will be a mixture of ages, abilities and roles.
