Carers Week afternoon tea

07 June 2023

Three women sit behind a table which has tea cups and plates of cakes and scones on it. The three each hold a teacup as though they are saying cheers. Some of the teacups on the table have strawberries in them and there is also a large milk jug and ceramic pot with sugar in. The cups all have flowery patterns on and there is also a vase with flowers in on the table.

Today carers and their families came together at the Louise Hamilton Centre for a delicious afternoon tea, hosted by Sue Francis and the team, to mark Carers Week.

Carers Week is an annual national campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

Cakes were donated to us by the Central Coop Members & Community Council, Central Coop Funeral, and team members Tami and Natalie came to help get the cakes set up and tea / coffee poured for our wonderful community.
