Changes to visiting hours

01 March 2023

From today, Wednesday 1 March, visitors will no longer need to reserve a slot via our visitor booking line.

As you may be aware, we have had visiting restrictions of some form in place for more than two years, as a result of Covid-19.

This has been a necessary step to help prevent the spread of infection and keep both our patients and staff safe.

However we are now in a position to fully welcome visitors back to the Trust and Wards will be open for visiting from 11am to 8pm each day, with the exception of meal times.

Each patient can have up to two visitors at their bedside at any given time, with ward teams managing these arrangements as they did prior to the pandemic.

There will continue be exceptions to visiting arrangements for patients who are at the end of life, who have dementia or other additional care needs. In these circumstances, visiting arrangements will be at the ward staffs’ discretion and will be arranged in discussion with the patient and/or their loved ones.

We are continuing to ask visitors to wear face masks while on our wards or in other clinical areas - and we continue to encourage you to wash/sanitise your hands on arrival and departure from the hospital and wards.

Please do not visit the hospital if you have symptoms of COVID-19, are a close contact of someone who is confirmed to have COVID-19, or if you have symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting within 48 hours of your planned visit.

At the same time as we open up visiting on our ward areas, we will also be opening our Aubergine Restaurant to visitors from today, Wednesday 1 March. This has been a staff-only facility for more than two years. Please note there will be designated areas for staff and visitors within the restaurant.
