BMA Junior Doctors Industrial Action 13-16 March
The BMA and Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association (HCSA) is planning to hold three days of industrial action next week, from 13 March to 16 March. This will involve a full withdrawal of labour by junior doctors for 24 hours on each of the three days, starting at 7am on Monday 13 March and ending at 7am on Thursday 16 March.
James Paget Hospital remains open during this period, and patients that need urgent or emergency care will continue to receive the treatment they need, when they need it - but those in less urgent need of care may experience longer waiting times than normal.
If you have a non-emergency health concern, please call 111 or visit a pharmacy to find the support you need, so that our Emergency Department can focus on life-saving care during the strike period.
Patients with an appointment or procedure at the hospital should attend as planned on Monday 13 March, Tuesday 14 March, or Wednesday 15 March, if they do not hear from us. Our hospital is doing everything we can to continue to provide scheduled appointments and procedures during those days, and we will contact patients as soon as we are able to if their appointment needs to be re-scheduled.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Trust's PALS team at 01493 453240 or email PALS@jpaget.nhs.uk
