Lowestoft Lions donate CD radios

16 March 2023

Five people - our charity manager Maxine, nurse Julie and three men from Lowestoft Lions Club stand in front of our hospital with the James Paget logo visible on the building behind them. The five hold the CD radio players and a certificate thanking the Lions.

Lowestoft Lions Club have supported patients receiving palliative care at our hospital through the generous donation of four CD DAB radios.

The new audio equipment will be used by our Palliative Care team, and others, to enhance patient stays at the James Paget.

Julie Pulford, Palliative Care Support Nurse, said the CD player radios would help patients across the hospital.

“Having these will allow us to support patients receiving palliative care and those nearing the end of life, perhaps by playing a favourite piece of music or even joining a singalong with their favourite songs if they would like this. Music can be a real gift for patients and, if they don’t have access to other devices, these players will make a real difference.”

The Lowestoft Lions team visited our hospital on Tuesday to officially handover the CD DAB radios and the Lions are pictured here with Julie and Maxine Taylor, our James Paget Hospital Charity Manager.

We’d like to thank Lowestoft Lions Club, and everyone who has contributed, for their support.
