There will be a stand in our hospital foyer on Wednesday, 8 March, to mark No Smoking Day and if you currently smoke you're invited to visit to get information, advice and support to help quit.
There are lots of reasons to quit smoking – you may be concerned about your health or you might just want to save some money – but it can be difficult without some support.
Our hospital team – including our tobacco advisers and our new maternity smoke free practitioner Mel – will be on hand along with Smoke Free Norfolk to tell you more about the support available and the free things on offer to help you.
Nationally the risks of smoking are being highlighted. Smoking doubles the risk of dementia through narrowing blood vessels in the heart and brain, which also increases the risk of stroke, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
If you would like to make a change, or if you’d just like to find out more before making a decision, you are welcome along to the stand between 10am and 3pm on Wednesday.
