GLAD Study appeal

07 November 2023

A GLAD Study graphic which says 'Join us in the world's largest study of depression and anxiety, funded by the NIHR (National Institute for Health and care Research). Help researchers better understand depression and anxiety - taking part is simple - fill in a survey online, we'll send you a DNA testing kit and you send back a saliva sample - our researchers look at your genetics.' The graphic has the web address below and 'all your data is safe and secure' on it. The design of the graphic includes a golden yellow box around the text and illustrations of a diverse group of people.

We are supporting the @GLADStudy and are encouraging anyone with depression or anxiety to sign up and join the 40,000 people helping to make a change in mental health research.

Research has shown that 30-40% of the risk of depression and anxiety is genetic. The @GLADStudy is interested in learning about the underlying psychological, medical, and genetic risk factors that play a crucial role in anxiety and depression.

Help the @GLADStudy to better understand the genetic links to depression and anxiety and how genes and the environment interact.

You can find out more and sign up at www.gladstudy.org.uk

If you register for the @GLADStudy please remember to choose the JPUH (James Paget University Hospital) from the drop-down box when asked about where you heard about the study, thank you.
