Congratulations to the Blended Learning UK team who were selected by Healthcare UK’s Department for Business and Trade, to be part of the UK – Thailand and Vietnam Trade Mission last month.

Blended Learning UK was founded by James Paget Professor Jerome Pereira and Professor Sam Leinster, from the UEA, and is now a global leader in providing ‘blended learning’ online courses which have been endorsed by organisations in the UK, Europe and Asia.

Yvonne Hacon, Clinical Service Manager for Blended Learning UK and Will Brown, Assistant Director for Strategy and Transformation were 2 of only 7 NHS delegates selected from the UK to attend the Trade Mission.

During the Trade Mission Yvonne and Will embarked on a journey across Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City, visiting hospitals and engaging with key institutions, showcasing Blended Learning UK’s portfolio and gaining deeper insight into Thailand and Vietnam’s healthcare landscape.

Their itinerary included a welcome reception at the British Ambassador to Thailand’s Residence in Bangkok. They also attended a ‘potential collaboration of the UK and Vietnam in clinical services and healthcare management’ workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, were Yvonne and Will gave a presentation on Blended Learning UK’s vision, promoting export capabilities with their NHS and CPD courses, to an audience including the British Ambassador to Vietnam and leaders in the City’s Department of Health, including the Health Minister.

They were delighted to meet with the first cohort of nurses from Vietnam to complete one of their online courses which received excellent feedback.

They took part in the UK Great Festival held to celebrate 50 years of UK – Vietnam Diplomatic relations where they exhibited their Blended Learning UK portfolio at the NHS stand and even tried to use some ‘Harry Potter’ magic to promote their work!

The Vietnamese leg of the Trade Mission concluded with a networking reception to mark the NHS 75th birthday party, hosted by British Consul General in Vietnam.

Yvonne and Will sought many opportunities to connect with key players delivering Thailand and Vietnam's health transformation plans. They gained invaluable market insight and first-hand intelligence on emergent opportunities and look forward to following these connections up.
