Outstanding achievements, dedication and quality care were celebrated at this year’s Paget’s People awards.
The awards were presented at a glittering ceremony, held at the Ocean Room, Gorleston, on Friday night (6 October).
This year saw more than 600 nominations from both patients and staff - the highest number ever received since the awards were started more than 10 years ago.
The winners in each category were as follows:
• Ward of the Year - Ward 9
• Team of the Year - Clinical: Paediatric Diabetes Team
• Team of the Year - Non-Clinical: Family Liaison Officers
• Clinical Individual of the Year: Gillian Macgregor-Linnett
• Non-Clinical Individual of the Year: Dale Marshall
• Inspiration Award: Dr Aban Dasgupta
• Researcher of the Year: Rene Gray
• Volunteer of the Year: Lisa Hutchinson
• Apprentice of the Year: Amy Currie
• EDP Gold ‘Patients’ Choice’ Award: Racheal Crane
• Partnership Working: Emily Leeks, Melissa McGeary and Anna Baker
• Fundraiser of the Year: Roshan Lal
• Governors’ Award: Kirsti Parslow-Williams
• Chair and Chief Executive’s Commendations: Nikki Cattermole; Emily Wilson
More than 270 guests attended the event, including some long-serving members of staff who were marking either 30 or 40 years at the James Paget, as well as staff who received ‘Employee of the Month’ certificates over the past year.
Chief Executive Jo Segasby said: “Once again, our Paget’s People awards has highlighted all that is great about our organisation - compassionate care, dedication and going the extra mile for patients.
“Every year, the awards give us the chance to celebrate the achievements of our staff – and once again, we’ve enjoyed a ceremony which has shown what a talented and caring workforce we have at the James Paget.”

This year’s event was supported by a number of generous donations from sponsors including Tesco at Caister, Tesco Extra Great Yarmouth, Pedal Revolution, Great Yarmouth Haven Rotary Club, Health Spaces and Mr John Sitek.
The ceremony included a meal for guests and a disco.
