Please do not visit our patients if you are ill

11 October 2023

We’re currently seeing more cases of Covid both in the community and in our hospital and we’re asking you not to come in to visit patients if you have any symptoms of illness yourself.

A photograph of the front entrance to our hospital with double doors marked 'Main Hospital Entrance' and the NHS floor mural visible. This has NHS in white writing on a blue heart with blue circles around it.

Visitors are being urged to stay away if they have symptoms of Covid-19 or any other illness, such as colds or norovirus, or if they have tested positive for Covid.

Please do not visit our patients if you have diarrhoea/vomiting or a respiratory illness/cold and flu symptoms.

If you are visiting, please help prevent infection spread by washing your hands with soap and water when entering the hospital and before leaving a ward.

Please can we also urge you to use health services wisely.

Please use the NHS 111 service – by calling 111 from any phone or by going online; https://111.nhs.uk/ - if you need medical help but it isn’t a life threatening emergency. The 111 service will be able to advise you of the best course of action and let you know where you should seek medical attention.
