Ask About Asthma week

11 September 2023

Ask About Asthma week runs from today, Monday 11, to Sunday 17 September to raise awareness of asthma in children and young people and how to manage it.

Traditionally this is the week where nationally there is a rise in asthma attacks following the return to school after the summer holidays. The aim is to share learning, resources and key information so we can help children and young people to ask about asthma and get the right care in place.

This year the week has four main themes;

  • Personalised Asthma action plans
  • Knowing how to use your inhaler
  • Annual reviews
  • Air quality and its impact on lung health.

Please see the documents below for more information and, if you'd like to speak to some of our team about the subject they will be in our first floor Aubergine Restaurant between 11.30am and 2pm on Wednesday, 13 September, to give more advice and assistance. You are welcome to visit them on Wednesday for a chat.

Ask about Asthma Week 2023 graphics - These are four separate graphic that are on an orange background with white writing on and blue highlighted white writing, with a photograph of a child and the NHS white on blue logo on. The first of the four reads 'make sure your child has an asthma action plan', the second says 'make sure you know how to use an inhaler', the third says 'schedule an asthma review for your child every year and after every attack' and the fourth says 'know your asthma triggers to help manage your condition'.
