Our Discharge Lounge team, plus friends and supporters, have raised an amazing £2,344 for our Sandra Chapman Centre to show support for a colleague who is currently receiving treatment at the Centre.
Kay Hart, Discharge team Co-ordinator, and colleagues organised a team to take part in the Lowestoft’s Park Run and the runners raised the incredible amount through sponsorship and donations.
The money has been raised to show support for Shirley Pendergast, who has worked in the Discharge Lounge and on wards at the James Paget for many years.
Kay said; “Shirley is a colleague and a dear friend and the amount raised is testament to how well loved she is. We were running/ walking to raise her spirits, but additionally to raise some much needed funds for the Sandra Chapman Centre. We asked people to show their support for our lovely mate during her difficult journey and so many responded – thank you all.”
Maxine Taylor, James Paget Hospital Charity Manager, said; “Thank you to everyone who took part in the Park Run and all those who made a donation. The money raised will help support patients using the Centre and we are very grateful for your support.”
