The team at the Royal Falcon Hotel in Lowestoft High Street have handed over a cheque for more than £3,500 to our High Dependency Unit and Intensive Care Unit.

The huge donation came after the Royal Falcon team staged ‘Falcon Fest’ – a music festival featuring a host of bands - at the venue on Saturday 5 August.

There was live music from singers and acts on the Terrace stage and on the Main Stage during the course of the event which started in the early afternoon and continued through the evening.

As a result of the event and fundraising an amazing £3,503.59 was collected for our HDU and ICU – taking the total raised by the Royal Falcon over two years to more than £6,000.

Portia Bird, who is pictured here with Reece Withers, Hayley Cutts, Peter Redwood, Ryan Redwood and Charlotte Rose, handing over the cheque to James Paget Charity Manager Maxine Taylor, said; “HDU/ICU means so much to us as they saved my mum’s life. Without their care my mum wouldn’t be here today. HDU/ICU help a lot of people and often those who are in HDU/ICU are moved to other wards before they have the chance to thank them for all that they do. I hope the money we have raised helps them. We also want to again thank everyone who participated in this event and for everyone’s kindness it really means a lot.”

Maxine Taylor, James Paget Charity Manager, said; “This is a very generous donation and we can’t thank the team at the Royal Falcon and everyone who supported their fundraising enough. We appreciate all the work that went into this and thank everyone involved.”
