James Paget University Hospital has officially opened up nominations for its ‘Paget’s People’ staff awards, the yearly opportunity to celebrate the hard work, excellence and compassion of people and teams working across the Trust.
James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, is calling on patients, families, carers and members of the public to nominate individuals or teams at the hospital for awards, which feature several new categories in 2024’s celebrations.
Each category is kindly sponsored by a variety of individual donors and local companies, who are proud to help recognise the efforts of staff at the hospital this year.
Alongside long-standing award categories seeking for both clinical and non-clinical individuals and teams of the year, the hospital has introduced new awards which reflect its Trust values, launched last year.
These include the ‘Outstanding Leadership’ award, targeting supportive and caring leaders at the Trust; the ‘Respect’ award, which celebrates people who have championed equity and diversity at the Trust, and the ‘Working Together’ award, which recognises collaborative projects involving teams working both in the hospital and at other organisations.
The 2024 ‘Paget’s People’ awards will continue to receive nominations for Volunteer and Fundraiser of the year, to focus on people that have supported the hospital or raised money for the James Paget Hospital Charity.
New award categories also include the ‘Rising Star’ award to celebrate any student, including trainees, apprentices, and Project Search students, working and learning at the hospital, as well as the ‘Learning Into Action’ award to shine the light on individuals and teams that have made a positive difference out of challenging situations.
Paget’s People 2024 will also continue to have the Gold ‘Patient Choice’ award, sponsored by the Eastern Daily Press, which is open to nominations from patients, relatives or carers only for individuals or teams that have made a real difference in the care received at the hospital.
Finally, the Trust is seeking nominations for the new ‘Sustainability’ award, rewarding people and teams that have improved the hospital’s impact of the environment, and the ‘Change Leader’ award, aimed at staff who have led innovation, research and improvements in care for our patients.
Jo Segasby, Chief Executive at the James Paget Hospital, said: “We are delighted to launch nominations to the Paget’s People awards for 2024, and encourage everyone to submit details of the people and teams who have made a difference over the past year.
“We are always overwhelmed by the amount of nominations we receive, and the amazing testimonies and stories of colleagues that make everyone proud of the Paget.”
